Waiting List
The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles operates one City-wide waiting list for the Public Housing Program. An applicant's place on the public housing waiting list will be determined by the following system of preferences:
Preferences for Ordering the Public Housing Waiting List
| First Preference |
| - Working families (32 hours/week or more) |
| - Those who are unable to work due to disability |
| - Those who are unable to work due to age |
| Second Preference |
| - Working families (20 to 32 hours/week) |
| - Those in educational, training, or upward mobility programs. |
| Third Preference |
| - Date and time of application |
| Fourth Preference |
| - Veterans and veterans' families (breaks ties) |
