Shalom Center Programs and Services
Homebuyer Education:
Shalom Center conducts homebuyer education programs and provides counseling to help families understand their financial situation, plan for the purchase of a home. Post purchase counseling is also conducted to prevent mortgage delinquencies and to encourage homeowners to protect their asset.
Pre-Purchase Counseling:
Our housing counselors will sit down with you to work through and evaluate the home buying process and ensure that you understand the mortgage lending process and the financial commitment you are about to undertake.
Post-Purchase Counseling:
Shalom Center appears to be well-positioned to pursue the goal of using post-purchase support programs to reduce the incidence of mortgage foreclosures.
Mortgage Delinquency Counseling
A Certified Housing Counselor will thoroughly evaluate your personal financial situation and provide you advice on how to avoid default, foreclosure, or bankruptcy. Working together with you and your mortgage holder, our counselor will assist you in resolving your mortgage situation. We recognize that your home is your most important asset and we will provide you with our extensive experience and service excellence to assist you in regaining financial control.
Financial Literacy Program:
shalom Center conducts financial literacy training for low income residents many who are new to the community providing them with a basic understanding of personal finance preparing them to take control of the financial future.
Food Stamp Program
Help your congregation and community learn about
the nutrition benefits of the Food Stamp Program.
With food stamp benefits, low-income people can
purchase more healthy foods such as fruits and
vegetables, whole grain foods and dairy products.
Food stamp benefits also bring Federal dollars to
your community that can help the local economy.
Food Bank Program
Shalom Center gets food from Southern California Food Bank (USDA) and food is distributed to churches, schools, and local agencies as well as senior citizens living on fixed incomes and low-income working families.
Free Health Care Program
Shalom Center has been established a strong partnership with QueensCare to provide underserved community’s critical health needs.
